Plot:
Even our most snooty friends would describe the plot as not perfect, but not too terrible. The story The Promise tells is pretty decent. This is a fine demonstration of good story writing.

The execution of the film, in other words, the production, is good. The production of The Promise is decent. Though we found ourselves impressed with the movie’s acting in whole. Cecilia Cheung and Dong-Kun Jang though, were clearly the best.
