Plot:
Thanks partially to fun plot elements, My Mother's Smile is an intriguing and riveting flick. The quality of My Mother's Smile’s plot is such that we’d understand it if other aspects were subpar. Is the plot good enough to justify buying the film? Sure. But there are plenty of other reasons too.

Execution:
The writing is, fortunately, not wasted on mediocre acting, production, and directing. I feel driven to point out the unsung heroes of most flicks: The production teams. They excel in My Mother's Smile. The film’s acting is quite good. Sergio Castellitto stands out.

Is My Mother's Smile entertaining? Absolutely! Have I viewed better movies? Yes, but not many. We recommend you watch it in the evening, with the lights down low.
