Celebrity Review

Celebrity

Starring: Kenneth Branagh, Judy Davis, Joe Mantegna, Charlize Theron, Bebe Neuwirth, Melanie Griffith, Winona Ryder, Isaac Mizrahi

Directed by: Woody Allen

Written by: Woody Allen

Genre(s): Comedy

Rating: R

Runtime: 113 minutes

Released: November 20, 1998

Plot:

I couldn’t force Celebrity on my worst rival. Celebrity features a plot so pointless the movie evidently was doomed even before it was filmed. WARNING: Continue at your own risk!

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Execution:

Celebrity’s writing is a huge disappointment. It truly feels like it could executed so much better. All in all, we were not pleased at the quality of the movie’s production and direction. Even as bad as the director was, the actors are worse.

Rating: ★½☆☆☆

Entertainment:

I just cannot say I felt entertained. It amazes us that a flick this dull received funding. The film is a bit funny though — for all of the wrong reasons.

Rating: ★½☆☆☆

Overall, Rent or Buy?

No way. Stay away from this movie. By any means necessary.

Rating: ★★½☆☆
